Bits of knowledge

Small amount of knowledge acquired over time

  1. Engineering is understanding performance, structure, and limits of what you build, deeply.

  2. To have a healthy ecosystem you need to go back and revisit. You need to occasionally throw stuff away and replace it with better stuff.

  3. So the first step to annihilating procrastination is to set wildly specific, clear goals for each task. That way, the brain doesn`t have to expend resources in wondering how, why, or what to do.

To achieve this, break the task down into micro-goals (even if the task will only take an hour).

  4. We need more kind people around us, not nice people. Kind people challenge you, confront the hard truths and make you better. Cherish the kind people in your life and strive to be kind.

  5. Stress is mostly a response to how we perceive events. When we change our perception, we can also change how the past, present, and future affect us.

  6. Hard work works. Smart work works better. Smart hard play works best.

  7. If you perform 150-299 minutes of vigorous physical activity per week, you lower your risk of all-cause mortality by 21% - 23%.

  8. There is no room for ego in entrepreneurship. Everyone starts from the bottom. If you can’t hit small goals, you can’t hit big goals.

  9. The expectations we have for ourselves and others are one of the biggest influences on how we feel about our lives on a day-to-day basis.

  10. Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out. Not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years. And working really hard to make that future a reality.
